🌳 Adult children of elderly parents

For adult children of elderly parents: know they're okay without calling every hour

Your mom taps "I'm okay" and you see it. If one day she hasn't moved for many hours, the gentle check-in sends an alert (only if she turned it on). And if she asks for company, the Turn picks one sibling—no drama, no lists.

What's going on, and what Mi Estela does about it

From worry to peace of mind

"I call her every day to check if she's okay and it stresses her out"

With Senior Mode, your mom gets a big button: "Let my family know everything's fine." One tap and you all see it. No coordinates, no street names—what an elderly parent wants to know is "are they okay?", not where.

"What if she falls and nobody finds out?"

The gentle check-in: if she turns it on (it's off by default), she picks how many hours without movement trigger an alert and who gets notified. Plus SOS, with 112 one tap away. Mi Estela doesn't replace telecare or emergency services.

"There are three of us siblings and it's always the same one who shows up"

The Turn: she asks for company without saying why, and Estela notifies ONE person—the one who's available today and has responded the fewest times. If they don't answer in time, it rotates automatically. Nobody sees a list, nobody knows who said no.

"She can barely use her phone"

Senior Mode is its own screen: large text, few buttons, just the essentials. And she can talk to Estela by voice: "call María" and the call actually goes through.

What you'll actually use

Senior Mode

Large text, few buttons: "if something happens, alert your people," "let my family know everything's fine," "see your people on the map," "send a quick message," "listen to me." Plus the Gospel and the saint of the day, for those who want it.

Gentle check-in

"Look after me." Off by default: the person themselves decides. Alert if I haven't moved in X hours, and who to notify.

The Turn

Caring for someone as a team: sibling turns, not surveillance. Each person says which days they can show up.

They're not answering

When someone doesn't answer, it's almost never what you fear. Estela tells you what she knows, calmly: "they were around a while ago," "their phone was at 4 %," "no signal for hours." She never makes up where they are.

Calls and video calls

Right inside the app, no switching to another one. The ringtone sounds even if the app is closed.

How it works →

The Thread and the letters

A warm question every now and then that weaves your family story (grandparents, parents, children). By the end of the year, it's a movie of your family.

Honestly

What Mi Estela doesn't do

  • It's not telecare or a red button that calls emergency services for her: SOS alerts her circle and puts 112 one tap away so she can call it herself.
  • Nothing gets turned on behind her back: the gentle check-in and the history are switched on by her.
  • No cameras, no microphones, no "listen to surroundings."

Frequently asked questions

Does she need a modern phone?

An iPhone or an Android with the app installed. Senior Mode is made for tapping without squinting: big buttons and very few of them.

What happens if she doesn't tap "I'm okay" one day?

Nothing fires on its own unless she's turned on the gentle check-in (if she hasn't moved in the hours she chose, it alerts whoever she chose). You can send her a soft nudge from "I want to know if they're okay," without being pushy.

How much does it cost?

None of this costs anything, ever, and it never will: everything that helps you know someone is okay is free forever.
