AirTag, Find Hub, Tile or SmartTag: Which to Buy in 2026 (Prices in Spain)
The first question isn't which one is best, but which phone you have. The four families of tags for keys, wallets and luggage, with verified prices in Spain, what each one does, and what you shouldn't use them for.

Location tags help you find keys, wallets, backpacks and suitcases. There are four families, and the rule for choosing is almost always the same: the one that matches your phone, because each one depends on a different network of phones passing nearby. Prices in Spain, with the date and source for each.
AirTag (Apple): if you have an iPhone
Apple renewed the AirTag on January 26, 2026. According to Hipertextual, the second generation costs €35 each and €119 for a pack of four at the Apple Store in Spain (Xataka Móvil confirmed the €119 pack price as official on August 19, 2026, when PcComponentes was selling it for €89). Same size as the 2021 model, with a second-generation ultra-wideband chip that, according to Apple, finds the item from up to 50% farther away with Precision Finding, and a speaker up to 50% louder. It takes a CR2032 battery that you can replace at home.
It uses the Find My network, the one made up of iPhones, iPads and Macs, and it works best if you live in a city. You need an iPhone or iPad to set it up: it can't be used with Android, which can only detect whether one is travelling with you.
Find Hub tags (Google): if you have Android
Find Hub is Google's network (formerly “Find My Device”) and is made up of Android phones. Several brands make tags for it:
- Moto Tag 2 (Motorola): reached Spain in July 2026 for around €38-39 (Geeknetic and Xataka Móvil, July 8, 2026). Ultra-wideband for Precision Finding with compatible phones, Bluetooth 6.0, water resistant (IP68), and a battery that, according to Motorola, lasts more than 600 days.
- Moto Tag (the original): in July 2026 it was found from about €19 at some shops up to €39.91 on Motorola's website.
- Chipolo and other brands: from about €16-35. Chipolo makes models for Google's network and for Apple's, so check which one you're buying.
Galaxy SmartTag2 (Samsung): only if your phone is a Samsung
It works with SmartThings Find, the Galaxy network, and it can only be set up with a Samsung phone. Xataka Móvil listed it at €29.90 at Samsung on July 8, 2026 and noted that it is not compatible with Android's location network. If the whole family has Samsung, it works very well; if you switch brands, it's left without a network.
Tile (Life360): the one that works with iPhone and Android
Tile belongs to Life360, works with its own app on iPhone and Android, and is integrated into the Life360 app. Its advantage is exactly that: it suits homes with both systems. Its limit is the network: it relies on phones that have the Tile or Life360 app open, far fewer than the iPhones or Androids in Apple's and Google's networks. We haven't found a current official price at a Spanish store, so we won't give you one; compare it wherever you buy.

What they're not for
- They are not for locating people. Not a child or an older adult: they don't send arrival alerts, have no SOS, and can trigger an “unknown tracker” alert on their own phone. We explain this in AirTag to locate a child or an older adult.
- Nor for following anyone. iPhones and Androids warn you when someone else's tag is travelling with someone, precisely to prevent that. If you think one is following you: what to do.
- For a vehicle, they fall short if you want real-time location. We cover this in locator for a car, motorbike or bike.
And for people
To know that your people have arrived, what works is for them to share their location from their own phone, knowing it and able to stop it. That's Mi Estela: a circle with your people's faces on the map, arrival alerts, SOS and chat, on iPhone and Android, free for the essentials. For keys, there's AirTag.
